King of SEO

Terms of the bidding

Short, because there is not much to it. You are paying for a line in a register on a website. Read this before you bid rather than afterwards.

What a bid buys

A bid puts your name, your link and your description into the public register on this site, ranked by the amount paid. Bids are ranked highest first, and where two bids are equal the earlier one is placed above. Your entry stays on the register unless it is removed under the grounds below.

What a bid does not buy

It does not make you the King or Queen of SEO. There is no such office, no body that confers it, and nobody here who could hand it over. It does not give you any right to the titles held by the people named on this site, and it is not an endorsement of you by them, by this site, or by anybody else. It is not an advertisement slot, a rank in a search engine, or a link that carries any weight; every link in the register is marked nofollow ugc and always will be.

Refunds

Bids are final once Stripe has confirmed the payment. Two exceptions. First, if your entry never appears in the register because of a fault at this end, you get the whole amount back; email the address below and it is returned without argument. Second, where consumer law in your country gives you a right to a refund, that law applies and overrides anything written here.

Being outbid is not grounds for a refund. That is the entire mechanism of a bidding war and you can see the standing bid before you pay.

What gets removed

Entries are removed without a refund if they are abusive, defamatory, obscene, impersonate somebody else, promote something illegal, or link to malware or deceptive content. Entries are also removed on a valid legal demand. If your entry is removed for one of these reasons you will be told which one.

If you want your own entry taken down, ask and it will be removed. No refund, since the service was delivered, but no argument either.

Payments and your data

Payment is processed by Stripe. This site never receives or stores your card number. What is stored is the name, link and description you typed, the amount, the time, and the Stripe reference for the payment. The name, link and description are public by design, which is the point of a register. Your email address, if Stripe passes one, is kept only to contact you about your entry and is not published or sold.

Who runs this

The site is operated independently and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the British monarchy, Stripe, Google, or any of the people or companies named on the register. People are named here because their claims to the title are already published elsewhere, and each entry links to where.

If you are named on this site and want your entry corrected or removed, email the address below and it will be dealt with.
